Sun & Water Safety
Sun Safety
One of the most shaded waterparks in the world,
WhiteWater World has been designed to minimise sun exposure. We've
partnered with Banana Boat to ensure you remember to apply sunscreen every hour, wear a hat and UV protective clothing.
Remember - Lobster Red is not cool this summer!
The Dangers of the Sun
Too much exposure to the sun can cause serious damage
to your skin. Make sure whenever you’re going in the sun, you take
adequate precautions.
Here are some tips to stay Sun Safe & have a great day!
- Slip on a shirt (long sleeve, thick material)
- Slop on sunscreen (30+ water resistant)
- Slap on a hat (broad rimmed are best)
- Wrap on the sunnies (UV protective filter)
Try and avoid direct exposure to the sun during the hottest part of the
day (between the hours of 10 am and 2 pm) and take advantage of shade –
remember, WhiteWater World is one of the MOST SHADED water parks in the
world!

Dehydration
When visiting the park or staying in the sun for long
periods of time, make sure you drink plenty of fluids – Try to avoid
caffeine and carbonated drinks and give H20 a go. Water is best to keep
you feeling great.
Water Safety with Surf Life Saving
At WhiteWater World, we’re passionate about beach, water and surf safety.
So we employ qualified lifeguards to ensure a
fun-filled, safe experience for our guests. We also donate a percentage
of our revenue to the Surf Live Saving Foundation.
About Surf Life Saving
When the 1830’s laws banning bathing in daylight hours
were repealed between 1902 and 1905, Surf Life Saving was born. As surf
swimming popularity increased, so did the drownings and by the summer
of 1906-07, Sydney was obsessed with the question of surf safety.
Australia’s first Surf Life Saving Clubs emerged on Sydney’s beaches in 1907.
On 18 October 1907, representatives of the seven first Surf Life Saving
Clubs, along with other interested groups, met to form the Surf Bathing
Association of NSW, which went on to become Surf Life Saving Australia
(SLSA).
Australians flocked to the beach under the watchful eyes of surf
lifesavers, beginning a national ‘love affair’ with the beach which is
now one hundred years old.

Our Lifeguard's Putting Your Safety First
Guest safety is our number one priority at WhiteWater
World and our team of dedicated and professional lifeguards are an
integral part of our safety procedures.
The Royal Life Saving Society of Australia and Dreamworld have worked
together to create a fully accredited Waterpark Lifeguard Qualification
andTraining program which will see WhiteWater World Lifeguards trained
specifically on the rides, systems and equipment within the park.
Every lifeguard continues in-service training, with some of the park's
lifeguards amongst the most highly qualified in Australia. But most
importantly, each lifeguard on the team is there to make sure that
every guest, big and small, gets the most out of their day at
WhiteWater World!
Lifeguards cannot watch everyone all the time, so parents must actively
supervise their children. For safety reasons, pregnant women, guests
with certain pre-existing health issues, guests with casts, footwear,
eyewear or any any hard or sharp objects are not permitted on any
slides. Some slides and attractions have a maximum combined weight
limit for riders.
Please contact WhiteWater World on 07 5588 1111 prior to your visit
should you have any doubt regarding your suitability to participate.
Aquatic recreation is all about fun and safety, Surf Lifesavers and
WhiteWater World will make sure you enjoy your day, without the worry!
